It is not possible that Alu chop are not included in the winter evening snacks. Aloo Chop is a popular street food of India. It is similar to South Indian Aloo Bonda and Maharashtrian Batata Vada. Aloo Chop is a combination of masala aloo and gram flour. Here we will make chops with a new taste by mixing cauliflower with potatoes. So let’s start to make Gobhi Aloo Chop
Required Ingredients for Gobhi Aloo Chop
Gram flour – 200 grams / 1 cup
cauliflower – 1 big size, grated
Potato – 3 medium sized, boiled
Oil – as required for frying
Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 big size, finely chopped
Ginger paste – ½ tsp
Cumin – ½ tsp
Green chili – 6-7 (make paste of it)
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Ajwain – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Amchur powder – ½ tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp, grated
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1 pinch
salt to taste
Gobhi-Aloo Chop Recipe
Step 1 – Take gram flour in a bowl, make a thick batter by adding water to it (the batter should not be too thick or thin. Its thickness should be medium, and there should not be lumps in it), then add baking soda, coriander leaves (half a tablespoon), salt as per taste, red chili powder and Crushed carom seeds and mix it well and leave it for 15 minutes to set.
Step 2 – Take out the skin of the boiled potato and mash it.
Step 3 – Take a wok in the gas, heat some oil in medium flame, then add cumin and onion and fry till it becomes golden brown, then add cauliflower and fry a little, now in it Add mashed potatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, grated green chilies, dry mango powder, and salt, mix it well and lastly add coriander leaves and leave it in the low flame for 2 minutes to cook
Step 4 – After 2 minutes remove the aloo masala from the gas
Fifth step – Now make round balls or tikki shapes of this stuffing and keep it separately in a plate.
Sixth step – Now take oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, take potato balls and dip them in gram flour and put them in the oil for frying.
Seventh Step – Now for deep frying, increase the flame of the gas and fry it till it becomes golden brown. After this take it out on a plate. Similarly fry all the vadas.
Now serve this prepared Gobhi-Aloo vada with Chili Sauce or Tomato Sauce.
